PRESENTIALITY AND VIRTUALITY

It could be said of the pandemic, that the year 2020, was as a song says: "THE YEAR IN WHICH TIME STOOD", because of COVID19, however, I believe that, despite the adversity experienced in the world, there have been observed wonderful things. We have also seen many realities in different subjects, which were hidden or went unnoticed throughout life, perhaps because we did not value them, taking them as one more daily life in our daily lives. Such is the case of participation in the Catholic Mass and it is particularly on the subject that I want to comment on this time.

Until before the pandemic, those of us who could assist by Divine mercy were because we had the Temples, mobility, ease of location, availability and other factors to do so, despite everything, sometimes it was not possible to get there. They did it virtually, for reasons of health, location, and other factors, they could not achieve it either, because on certain occasions they had to abide by schedules and other inconveniences that crossed.

In my case, those of us who began to attend Mass daily from a time to now, it never occurred to us to think that there would be a day when we could not reach the temples, because they would be closed, nor would we leave our homes due to confinement and we would be deprived of feeling that physical closeness to our God.

But that unexpected day arrived and the Temples were closed with the pandemic, we could not move freely either by walking or by vehicle and it was the beginning of many days, which caused unease and confusion in some Catholics and I even believe fear.

A few days later we went on to joy. A new form of communication emerged, since the trend was to migrate to the virtual and it became the new modality of encounter. A number of offers appeared on social networks, of Eucharistic Celebrations in Parishes, not only in the country, but worldwide.

There was to choose according to the preference of each one, duration times, language, different schedules, we participated in the Celebration and at the end a spiritual Communion was made.

In the moments of tranquility and in the most critical of the epidemic, Jesus the Eucharist remained in the Catholic Temples all over the planet.

Now, complying with the protocols, we returned to the churches, we returned to Masses, to have the joy of feeling the presence of the Risen Christ in the Eucharist. Anyone who wants to can receive it, even if he is sick, the sacred form reaches his residence. He physically stayed with us, because he knows we need him.

It is important that we see that physical closeness with God is essential, our best effort is to make the decision and He will help us achieve it.
