"HEALING OR HEALING GIFT"CHARISMS OF THE Clergy

On this subject, we quote again the words of St. John Paul II at a General Audience in St. Peter's Square, when he stated the following about "The Charisms":

“The Holy Spirit, giver of every Gift and first principle of the vitality of the Church, not only works in it through the Sacraments. The Holy Spirit, as Saint Paul says, distributes to each his gifts according to his will (cf. 1 Cor 12, 11), he spills a great wealth of thanks in the people of God, through prayer, contemplation and action. They are the charisms.

On this occasion, I would like to share with you the testimony of Father Javier Riveros González, of the Congregation of the Eudists. One of the Priests whose special interest in praying for the sick is perceived easily. God granted him the Charism of Healing, or Gift of Healing.

Father Riveros was born in Bogotá, and is the second of 3 brothers. He states that his Ministry was: “Surprise gift in my life, at age 19, and from the experience of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal“ RCC ”I was ordained Eudist Priest of the“ Minute of God ”. I feel happy and grateful for that gift, knowing that it surpasses me, it overflows me, but I discover in the Gift of the Priesthood, a treasure that does not run out. I have seen how in the Gospels, that there is a very needy people, and one way of God expressing that love is healing it. ” Father Javier Riveros has witnessed numerous cures that God has given his people, in the Eucharist, and in different moments of Community prayer.

In the exercise of his Pastoral work, he was in Cartagena in 2001, and from 2016 to 2018 he was in Barranquilla.

It is also important to point out that he celebrates the so-called “Prayer Masses for the Sick”. Name as they are known in Colombia, and in which many of the participants, share with the Assembly, that they have been cured, at that time of their illnesses. It is essential to remember that all Masses are of Healing. God is Powerful, Merciful, He is Beautiful, absolutely Pure, He remains with us, and His Holy Will is always to heal his people.

The Eucharist is the most appropriate place of Healing, but it occurs at any time and place, according to the Divine will.

Currently Father Javier Riveros is the Director of the "Issuer of the Minute of God." Adviser of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal "RCC" in Engativá. Spiritual Director of the “Holy Assembly” Movement, and of “Echoes of Mercy”. He is part of the Eudist training team.

I had the opportunity to meet Father Javier at a Mass of "Prayer for the sick" to which I was invited by one of the leaders of the Apostolic Movements that Advises.

I want to end with a quote from the Gospel of St. Mark: "And he said to them:" Go all over the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Those who believe will be accompanied by these wonders: In my name they will throw the demons, they will speak new languages, they will take the snakes in their hands, and although they drink something deadly it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick and they will heal ”(Mk 16, 15-18).
