God's plans are perfect, we all have a Mission in life. On this occasion, I want to share with you the testimony of Luz Stella Flores, a health professional, with medical studies, and a specialty in Pediatrics. Her husband is also a health professional, and they are the parents of three girls who have already finished their careers.
At the beginning of the conversation, she tells me that since she could remember she has felt “very connected with God”, even though her parents were Catholic, it could be said that she did not grow up in a pious family. When she was 3 years old she often asked her mother if they would attend church. She also had a great desire to make the First Communion, at her College. But due to her father's job transfer, they changed City, and it was not possible.
They returned to Bogotá when she was 9 years old, and by God's blessing, the Priest of the Church, as a special case, came to her residence for the spiritual preparation of First Communion. She participated in the Sacrament, of Christian initiation, one Sunday, in a Eucharist in her Parish. She says that as a child and a teenager she wanted to be a religious.
On some occasion, who was at the home of a schoolmate, her mother, invited the three girls to a youth group "AJAM", and they welcomed the invitation with joy. The Lady belonged to the group of Ladies, called “ACMI Femenino”, founded in Colombia by Father Miguel Triana Uribe.
It was thus that at the age of 13, Luz Stella met this Holy Priest, a character of the time, and who would become her Spiritual Father, as it was for many of the members of the Movements of the "Specialized Environmental Apostolate" . When she was in fifth high school, she was Secretary of the “Curita” (as she was affectionately called), and for 1 year, the Father's Conductor would pick her up and take her daily. Later her mother joined the ACMI Feminine Ladies group.
Luz Stella was Vice President of the youth group “AJAM. She states that it was a wonderful experience in her adolescence and youth; and that, in the Easter Retreats, the vigils and all the meetings, truly unforgettable moments were lived.
In her youth she was able to discern her vocation to Marriage, when she met the one who would be her husband, through a friend from the rural area, who was a Bacteriologist, and worked with him. Since they met, a great sympathy was born, for a year they were friends and went out to the bicycling. Later they formalized their relationship and when they had been dating for two years, they decided to get married. They both wanted to start a home, and raise a family under God's blessing.
When the girls were small, they participated with their husband in the group “ACMI” Mixed, It is worth mentioning that her mother-in-law is a practicing Catholic Lady, and she supported them with the care of the girls, on different occasions so that they could attend religious groups and activities.
Later, the girls attended “PRE-AJAM”, and in adolescence they also joined the “AJAM” Youth group, with the Curita.
She comments that she has always felt God very close, both in her family life and at work. She says that her first girl was twice on the verge of death, and in those difficult moments, she clearly saw the Divine intervention.
She also felt it in 2015 when her mother had a critical health condition, and in 2019 she was very delicate in intensive care, and lost her heart. On this, she affirms: "I saw how the Lord saved her." And everything was overcome by the grace of God.
Regarding her work life, she says that on several occasions she witnessed the miraculous healing of numerous patients.
Music and art have been an important part for the whole family. With her husband and daughters, they participated in various groups, and recorded 2 CDs. Luz Stella has been a member of “VIVACE” an adult choir for 11 years.
Since November 2019, she has participated in the Father Ignacio Larrañaga Prayer and Life Workshops, from which she states that she has lived great and magnificent experiences about “listening to God”.
She currently collaborates in her Parish as an extraordinary Minister of Communion, and is the Coordinator of the Pastoral of Health. When we were finishing the conversation she told me: "I feel calm in the hands of God, trusting in the Divine will."
I received this testimony from Luz Stella on September 7, 2020, via cell phone. Right now the world is suffering from the pandemic caused by COVID19.
Finally, it is important to remember that God is beautiful and merciful, he never fails. Nobody loves us and respects us like He does.
