MEDICAL POSSIBILITIES and INTERCESSION PRAYER

The beauty of God, his love in hearing our pleas, and his closeness is something wonderful in our lives. Important and powerful is common prayer.

I will begin this story about Conchita Salazar Pérez, counting from when her oldest son gave her a birthday present that was a travel to the United States in 2014.

Two days after arriving in that country, at breakfast time, she had a medical emergency.

She had lost the sensitivity of the left side, she did not feel her arm. Family members quickly contacted the medical center, which sent them an ambulance that took her to the "Myriam" clinic.

When they arrived at the hospital center, the doctor asked her: "Authorizes that we revive her" to which she answered yes. She noticed his son and grandson very restless. But she did not know what was happening.

Remember that she thought about God all the time, in his divine presence. Her other relatives by consanguinity or affinity, accompanied her in prayer from Colombia.

She was admitted to intensive care. She had suffered a stroke. There she spent Mother's Day, in a happy way, for the visits and gifts she received. After 5 days she left the clinic more or less well.

The doctor told her that out of 100 people who suffered a stroke, only 3 left the clinic as well as she did. And also the stay in intensive care was for a longer period. Concha found out about everything, only a while later. After 3 months she left the United States, went through Canada and then returned to Colombia. She was welcome with a great birthday celebration.

Conchita tells us about her spiritual journey, which began many years ago, occasionally visiting different religious movements, but for approximately 20 years, she participates actively in a Christian Church as well as her family. She has 4 children, and she has been a hard-working woman, who fought to get her children out.

The year after arriving in Colombia, they called her from the EPS to inform her that the surgical bladder procedure, which had been pending for some time, could be done.

The routine preoperative exams began. The cardiologist then ordered a catheterization, and once the results were received, the diagnosis was that of the three main arteries, one had been covered, in 84%. Therefore, it required, first and urgent, an open-heart surgery.

The surgeon told them that "this surgical intervention was bad to do it and bad not to do it". And the family was warned that the risk was too high, because the stroke could recur and stay in the operating room. Additionally, complications and general sequelae of the surgery should be considered. Conchita only knew that her operation was delicate.

Despite the disappointing medical part, she and her family decided to continue with the process, trusting only in Divine mercy.

When they took the results of the exams, they left her once hospitalized. The preparatory process began immediately.

The surgery was scheduled for April 6, 2017. The estimated time of the intervention would be approximately 7 hours, and the preparation required 8 days.

The relatives went to Bogota to offer him with grief, possibly a last goodbye.

The night before her children, brothers, relatives, church mates, and acquaintances, joined in prayer. They continued like this until the surgical intervention was completed.

The surgery lasted half the scheduled time. The doctor informed the family that everything had gone very well. That same day she got up and had lunch.

The prayer of intercession, profoundly changed the medical expectations and the scientific reality, of the complex surgical intervention of Conchita.

The words pronounced by Jesus for the humanity of all times are always fulfilled: "I assure you also that if two of you agree on earth to ask for something, whatever it is, they will get it from my Father who is in the heavens. "Matthew 18, 19-20.
