THE CAREER OF THE SAINTS

God manifests his Mercy in all the events of the history of humanity, and in the different cycles and moments of the life of every human being that treads this planet.

I see in my childhood, in a way so imperceptible for the passage of time, the first Holy Week I remember. The religious ceremonies seemed endless, the decorations, mangers, were attractive, large and novel. On the Sunday of Resurrection or Easter a particularity was presented in the celebration; since it was carried out jointly by two Churches of the town located in opposite geographical points and they had at the entrance of each temple the images with beautiful dresses for the religious parade. In the west there was the image of the Risen One standing victorious over the Holy Sepulcher, and in the upper eastern part there were some figures of the women and Disciples.

The route of the procession began with the passage (in Latin: passus) of Mary Magdalene that went to the west reaching the atrium. Then he would run back, to give the Good News to the Disciples. Later, in the parade, all the steps went down in a fast race until they bowed before the Risen One, this was known as "THE CARETE OF THE SAINTS"; it was something spectacular, full of devotion and emotion for us who were in the childhood stage, participated with a simple heart, sincere, open and willing to celebrate THE GREATEST WEEK; the atmosphere was one of overflowing joy, because there was a mysterious and beautiful communication with the Father of Heaven. Somehow he felt his closeness, his protection, the warmth of his tenderness and welcome to the little ones.

I remember with this narration the quotation from Matthew 18 1-5: "AT THAT MOMENT JESUS ​​APPROACHED THE DISCIPLES AND SAID TO HIM: WHO IS, THEN, THE GREATEST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVENS? HE CALLED A CHILD, PUT HIM IN THE MIDST OF THEM, HE SAID, "I ASSURE THEM: IF THEY DO NOT CHANGE AND DO LIKE CHILDREN, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVENS, SO, WHO SHOULD BE HUMBLE LIKE THIS CHILD, THAT IS THE GREATEST IN THE KINGDOM OF THE HEAVEN, AND HE WHO RECEIVES A CHILD LIKE THIS IN MY NAME, TO ME RECEIVES ME. "
